Breathwork is a gateway into the subconscious mind, allowing you access to your inner world in a whole new way. Breathwork is a somatic healing therapy, meaning it happens through the body. Using the power of your own breath to access non-ordinary states of consciousness, the innate intelligence of your BodyMind system is able to take over.

The human experience is complex, right?

As we navigate through life, it’s likely we’re going to encounter some emotional rollercoasters. This could be something as ‘simple’ as during childhood years someone laughing at us while we were singing a song and it made us feel a type of way. Our little brains create a pattern that will keep us safe from feeling this way again. It could be growing up in an environment where it wasn’t safe to show emotions or verbalise how you were feeling so it became a coping mechanism to ignore how you feel and pretend everything is fine and dandy. Life can also present some pretty traumatic events; losing a loved one, the end of a relationship, experiencing a natural disaster - to name a few.

In all of the situations above, our nervous systems become activated and there is an energetic charge coursing through our bodies. As a society, we are never taught how to regulate ourselves so when we experience these highly emotional and energetic events, if we cannot self-soothe (the vast majority of humanity - no one is alone in this) then this charge has nowhere to go. It’s left incomplete in remains stuck in our body while our mind tells us we’ve moved on!

Embarking on a Breathwork journey activates our nervous systems in a safe and controlled way. In doing this, and using breathing techniques for an extended period of time we start to slow everything down. We allow the inner wisdom of our BodyMind system to come into the driver seat and create space for any and all old, stuck emotional and energetic charges to come up to the surface, to be felt and to be released. By trusting you’ll receive exactly what you need and getting curious with the process, life long patterns, beliefs and behaviours that are NO LONGER SERVING YOU can be set free. You are your own healer and can begin the journey of self-liberation, all starting with a breath!

The type of Breathwork I offer is consciously connected activate and restore Breathwork. Activate breathing being associated with the sympathetic nervous system (- fight or flight), and restore bringing us into a rest and digest state linked to the para-sympathetic nervous system. By breathing intentionally for an set period of time it’s possible to switch out our brainwaves from our high analytical thinking ‘Beta’ into Alpha, Theta and even Delta and allows us to ‘zoom out’, gaining insights and access to information we don’t normally have in our day-to-day consciousness.

  • Each session will be a little bit different, whether that be the flow of activities we do and/or the topics we work with. 1:1 sessions include a 60-90 minute guided Breathwork journey, a variety of energy work, EFT tapping, oracle/tarot card pull, journalling, chatting about you journey

  • Lots of things can happen during a Breathwork journey including emotional releasing, crying, shouting, shaking, convulsing, dizziness, tingling, tension. Sometimes you might feel a psychedelic experience or like you’ve been in deep rest for the duration. Your body will always allow you to receive exactly what you need at the time. You can connect with your inner guidance, guides and ancestors. Some people experience visuals and deep memories can come up to the surface to provide insight. Darlin’ Breathe Breathwork sessions are always held in a safe, judgement free space and Lauren is a trauma-informed practitioner. There are lots of tools and different breathing techniques we can work with throughout the journey to assist with releasing all that no longer serves.

  • Pricing and accessibility is something that’s really important to me. I am able to offer a sliding payment scale in some circumstances, so please reach out if you would like to discuss further. I’m looking at split/instalment payments being available in the near future!   • Absolutely not! All experience levels are welcome at Darlin’ Breathe events unless otherwise specified.

  • Breathwork works hand in hand with trauma and things that have happened to us that have been really emotionally and energetically overwhelming for your nervous system. Sometimes these events still have an emotional charge in your body and require extra care when being held again. Being trauma-informed means I have studied trauma as part of my certification and understand better the effects trauma has on our mind, body, energy, beliefs. behaviours, relationships etc. I work continuously to support you and avoid re-traumatisation with guidance and techniques to help keep you safe. (this is different to trauma qualified)

  • This is completely up to you and your own body-mind system. It is possible to receive everything you currently need from a one-off session or you might be open to going a little deeper. I personally would recommend a minimum of 3 sessions which would give you the opportunity to relax more into what’s possible, allow a more thorough exploration of what comes up for you and get a feel of how a regular Breathwork practice can benefit you!

  • Active Breathwork does have some contraindications which may mean this type of Breathwork isn’t for you, or we may need to check with your Doctor before proceeding. We may be able to find alternatives in some cases, so please contact me directly to discuss further if any of the following apply:

    Pregnancy. A personal or family history of epilepsy, seizures, cardiovascular problems including angina or heart attacks, high blood pressure, aneurysms, glaucoma, retinal detachment, osteoporosis, or recent physical injuries, surgery or illness - particularly involving the brain, mouth, teeth, nose, throat, thyroid, immune system, lymphatic system, lungs, chest, ribs, spine, neck and/or reproductive organs.

    A personal history of serious mental illness, personality disorders, hospitalization for any psychiatric condition or emotional crisis, suicidality, psychosis or a current drug/alcohol addiction.

    Some medications may also be ineligible and you’ll be asked about this in your pre-breathwork questionnaire.
